Personality
Blaze is normally calm and levelheaded, but may be concealing her true feelings. Devoted to her position, she sometimes gets bogged down by her own strict discipline, which may explain why she seems a little withdrawn. She is suspicious of strangers and is difficult to become friends with, but is a loyal ally once you succeed in gaining her trust.
Previously in the RP, Blaze was quite the hothead, and was known for her tendency to go ballistic and erupt into violence at the slightest provocation -- this was likely due to the great amount of stress she had recently endured, in getting the Sol Emeralds stolen and being forced to retrieve them, only to have them escape her yet again. But very recently she suffered a mental breakdown of sorts that allowed her to relieve herself of a large amount of this stress. She has since mellowed out and become much more approachable than before. Rumors abound that she has developed romantic feelings for Sonic the Hedgehog after he helped her recuperate from her breakdown, but she will deny such accusations to the bitter end.
Abilities
Physical
Pyrokineticism, i.e. inherent mental control over the element of fire.
Learned
Axel Jump, Burst Hover, Burst Dash, Fire Boost, Axel Tornado (air trick), Jump Step (air trick), Rail Grinding.
Just as Shadow knows everything there is to know about the Chaos Emeralds, Blaze likewise is an expert on the Sol Emeralds and how to unlock their hidden powers. After the events of Sonic Rush, she gained the ability to transform into Burning Blaze with all 7 Sol Emeralds. (It is currently unknown whether this ability can also be achieved with the Chaos Emeralds.) After returning to her home dimension, she studied the Sol Emeralds extensively and gained knowledge of the hidden techniques of Sol Control, which allow her to teleport and temporarily halt the flow of time among other things.
Using the Chaos Emeralds would likely make Blaze act contrary to her usual personality.
Weaknesses
Prolonged exposure to intense cold nullifies her fire powers. She is also not much of a people-person and does not interact well with strangers.
History
Pre-RP
Recent facts have resurfaced regarding Blaze's childhood. Born in the
Sol Dimension as the only offspring of Soleanna's king and queen, she was raised as a princess and tasked with the duty of guarding the Sol Emeralds at an early age. When she was a young kitten of six years old, her father's war minister of the time, Julian Robertson, attempted to stage a coup de et'at on the throne by trying to personally assassinate the royal family and simultaneously overrun the palace grounds with robotic minions. This event led to the discovery of Blaze's fire powers when she accidentally burned Julian to ashes in her desperation to save the lives of her parents, forcing the coup to a premature halt as the robots were left leaderless.
Blaze was later exonerated of all murder charges after Julian was posthumously declared a traitor to the crown, but the mental scars left by the experience stayed with the princess forever. She was shunned by her peers and by many adults who all had grown fearful of the cat's awesome power, forcing Blaze to grow up alone and outcast with nothing but her Sol Emerald Guardian training to distract her mind from her loneliness. Though her parents still loved her dearly, Blaze developed a bitter attitude towards the world that had rejected her, becoming antisocial and a bit of a hermit as she continued to train herself both physically and mentally. She began to somewhat resent the powers that had left her to this fate, and for a long time she pored through the royal library and interrogated every wise man she could find for a possible way to be rid of her pyrokineticism. But after many unsuccessful attempts, Blaze finally realized that she had no choice but to live with her mixed blessing and curse. She changed her focus from abolishing her powers to containing them, so as to ensure that no-one would ever die at her hands again, and to this end she began wearing a special cape that dampened her powers to a negligible level until she tossed it aside to let them spring forth. This worked well for a while, until she met Dr Eggman Nega.
It was unknown what Nega's motives were -- perhaps he was continuing in Julian's footsteps, perhaps he had his own agenda -- but his objective was clear: he wanted the Sol Emeralds. Many times he and Blaze fought each other, with the cat emerging triumphant each time, but never without cost. Always did the mad doctor have some new trick up his sleeve, such as building a mechanical doppelganger of his nemesis, named Metal Blaze, who hence began to mercilessly annoy the original Blaze at every encounter.
When the dimensional rip occurred in the game Sonic Rush, Blaze was accidentally transported to Sonic's dimension along with the Sol Emeralds and Eggman Nega. Dr Eggman captured the Sol Emeralds in an attempt to use them for his own gain; Blaze was forced to chase him to gain the emeralds back, meeting Cream the Rabbit and her Chao, Cheese, along the way.
Cream immediately developed a liking for Blaze despite her withdrawn personality. She tagged along beside the princess as she navigated her way through the different zones on Sonic's world, and offered support and advice whenever Blaze fought one of Eggman's boss machines.
Blaze also met up with Sonic at several points during her journey. At the start, she disregarded the blue hedgehog's offer to help her find the Sol Emeralds, claiming that it was her responsibility alone. But later (after many events I won't divulge here, since they'd be big spoilers), she eventually realized that having friends might not be such a bad thing after all, and accepted Sonic's help. Together they defeated the two Eggmans and separated the two dimensions again, in the process forcing Blaze apart from Sonic and back into her own dimension with the Sol Emeralds in tow.
Post RP
Blaze's role in the RP began with a plot centered around the re-opening of the rift between the
Chaos Dimension and the
Sol Dimension, apparently caused by a sabotaged experiment to create a stable permanent portal between the dimensions using
Warp Ring technology. Almost immediately after landing in the Chaos Dimension at the casino city known as
Night Carnival, the Sol Emeralds in Blaze's possession dispersed over the landscape to several different Zones of Sonic's world. Soon after, Blaze met up with Cream and together the two rushed off to find the Sol Emeralds and set right the dimensions again.
So far Blaze has managed to collect all but three of the Sol Emeralds. The still-missing gems are known to currently be in the possession of Metal Blaze. She has also modified her previous mission to include finding any stray citizens of the Sol Dimension that might've accidentally been teleported to the Chaos Dimension, and leading them back home. Together with Sonic's help, she hopes to soon overcome the many obstacles standing between her and the completion of this task.
Recently, Blaze confronted Metal Blaze over ownership of the final three Sol Emeralds. In the ensuing battle, Blaze was severely injured and now lies unconscious, her future uncertain...
Affiliates |
| Sonic the Hedgehog | Blaze met Sonic during the events of the video game Sonic Rush. He is one of her closest allies and holds a very special place in her heart. |
| Cream the Rabbit | What Tails is to Sonic, Cream is to Blaze. The rabbit was pivotal in guiding Blaze through Sonic's world during her first adventure there; now, as Blaze returns to the Chaos Dimension in the RP, Cream fulfills much the same role she did before.
|
| Dr Eggman | Dr. Eggman stole the Sol Emeralds from Blaze's dimension during the events of the game Sonic Rush and harassed Blaze with his badniks and boss machines until she finally obtained all of the Sol Emeralds from him again and set the dimensions straight with Sonic's help. She is not looking forward to encountering him a second time.
|
| Dr Eggman Nega | Eggman's equivalent from the Sol Dimension, Nega and Blaze are longtime enemies. Unlike Sonic and Eggman, they share no grudging respect for each other and each wishes the other only death. Blaze commonly refers to Nega as a "dirty old man" due to his creation of her doppelganger, Metal Blaze.
|
| Metal Blaze | While Sonic might respect and perhaps somewhat fear his robotic counterpart, Blaze considers Maze to be nothing more than a source of annoyance. Although they are evenly matched in terms of ability and neither can harm the other with their flame powers, Maze's cheerful disposition and her facade of airheadedness never fail to grate on Blaze's nerves. Privately, Blaze considers Maze to be an insult that implies she herself is an empty-headed bimbo, and this has only served to deepen the enmity between herself and Maze's creator, Dr. Eggman Nega.
|
| Venice the Mink | Venice was a childhood friend of Blaze from the time before the attempted coup. Afterwards, Blaze distanced herself from the outside world and she and Venice fell out of contact with each other. He can be considered the Sol equivalent of SatAM Sonic.
|
| Sir Rix Tenrec | This loyal fellow is the captain of the Soleanna Knights, appointed to his position by Blaze and ordered to guard the kingdom shortly before she left to retrieve the stolen Sol Emeralds from Eggman Nega, unintentionally creating the dimensional rip that has led to the current dimensional breach storyline in the RP. He can be considered the Sol equivalent of SatAM Antoine.

Misc. Info
It has been suggested in the RP that Blaze have a substantial role in an adaption of the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Such an adapt would greatly fill in the gaps in Blaze's background story, as it would likely take place entirely within the Sol Dimension. But as the adapt has not been officially agreed upon in the RP as of yet, it's information regarding Blaze has not been placed here.
