Personality

Naugus is very confident in his magic, and tends to study things more than most would except (as he got trapped in the Void while researching it). He's very straight forward with those who betray him, taking the stand-point of "You stab me in the back and you're screwed"

Nagus has a talent for magic, mostly. Not that it would have much effect if he hadn't developed upon it with years of practice and studying.

He has studied various magics for years, and become a very powerful sorcerer, to the point where even Robotnik fears him.
